But I still wasn’t satisfied. I looked better, felt thinner, but weak, tired all of the time. I couldn't do much at all. I figured it doesn't matter at all if you can't move and function at least a little bit. I was getting injured pretty often doing every day tasks around the house. I wanted to be stronger, I wanted to move without pain. I was approaching 50 and my current quality of life was pretty low from my point of view. I knew I did it to myself but I figured there just had to be a fix. Most everyone told me that it's just part of aging and I should accept it. I didn't believe that. It just didn't seem logical that getting older had to equate to getting weaker and frail. So I kept looking for solutions. I found solutions, several, no many. It was finding the ones that worked for me that counted. Researching, learning academics mean nothing if not put into practice so that's what I do. I never stop learning and practicing what I learn. I try, and keep trying. Giving up is not a solution.
My supplement regimen consists of protein powders and EFAs, vitamin D and a B12 supplement and that's about it, nothing fancy.
Now I work with other like minded people wanting to make lifestyle changes. Change to better their health and obtain a better quality of life. I really like helping others do the same thing I did. Especially in the area of fat loss. I have regular training classes and meet with others one on one with the basics of life. Overall healthier eating and moving. Having come from a background of obesity, taking it off and keeping it off gives me a perspective not a lot of other trainers share. I've been there, I KNOW what its like to have to check out the sturdiness of a chair before I sat in it. Having to turn sideways in a doorway to get through. I see it differently. I KNOW how tough it is.
